California born and
raised, Joe Fernandez started playing guitar at the
age of 13.
It was hearing the
thunder of AC/DC that first inspired Joe to become a
guitar player. He bought his first electric from a
pawn shop and for the next 5 years he taught himself
classic rock and metal. Meanwhile he studied and
performed Latin jazz through high school.
Joe then moved on to
study instrumental performance at Musicians
institute in Hollywood, Ca., where he got connected
with Florida based cover band, None Other. He has
now graduated and has been playing professionally
with None Other for 3 years, which has allowed him
to work extensively on his technique in a variety of
styles, including jazz, motown, funk, disco, rock,
metal, modern dance, classical, and acoustic.
An experienced private
music instructor, Joe Fernandez is available to pass
along his expertise to anyone who wants to learn to play
Monica began learning to sing and play the piano at 4
years old, and she continued studying voice and piano
through high school. She received her Bachelor of Music
Education degree at Bryan College in Tennessee, where
she participated as a member of a touring chorale and
worked as a student accompanist. She recently relocated
to Florida with her husband. Monica has a love for both
classical and popular music, and a passion for helping
students learn and grow as they reach their
individualized musical goals.
Amalia grew up in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, a
city with a rich classical and jazz music culture. A
daughter to a lifelong conservatoire piano professor
mother, and a sister of a master harp player, she played
piano since she was 5 and went to a specialized academy
for musically gifted children. While in the academy,
Amalia has developed a passion for performing and
teaching music, and being a model student she was
offered a tutoring position immediately upon graduation.
She continued her teaching career after moving to US at
the age of 19 by giving private piano lessons.
A graduate of Westfield
State University in Massachusetts, with a bachelor’s
degree in Psychology and Music, Amalia established a
successful private practice in Western Massachusetts
teaching children and adults. She recently moved to
Florida with her family, and was very excited to join
Mr. Music’s talented instructors, and become a part of
the local musical force.
Amalia is deeply passionate
about bringing music into people’s lives - “Music is the
best language you’ll ever learn” she often says, ‘not
only it brings us joy but it also unlocks the infinite
creativity hidden inside each person”. While upholding
the world famous Russian School of Music, in terms of
teaching all the necessary basics early on, and
emphasizing not only the delivery style, but also the
technical aspects of playing an instrument, she believes
in tailoring ones’ teaching approach to individual needs
of a student.
Her background in Psychology
allows for better understanding of how to tap into the
creative potential of her students and utilize their
strengths to the maximum, while improving on the areas
that need development. Positive reinforcement and a
sense of achievement, however small are a must for every
PIANO & VOICE
Olga's love for music started when she was 5 years old,
and has grown into a great passion. She gained her
sixteen-year music education while growing up in Russia,
graduating from the Saint Petersburg conservatoire. Olga has
enjoyed teaching children and adults piano and singing,
immediately after completing her third year in the
conservatoire. She has had seventeen years of teaching
experience since then. She also worked as a singer for 4
years in Saint Petersburg Academic Chapel, performing
soprano both as a member of chorus team and solo.
Her teaching methods include,
along with piano and singing, all elements of musical
grammar, theory, and art of performance.
She believes that instead of simply teaching a student an
instrument, the instructor should help the student to
discover their own talents and boost creative development.
This will allow the student to enjoy the art of expressing
themselves through the music they play.
